"At the moment I play in Willem II's 021 and I get my chances in Willem II's first team"

My name is Wesley Spieringhs, I am 19 years old and I am pursuing my dream.

I’ve known for sure since childhood. My dream is to become a professional football player. When I was about 5 years old I started playing football at the local football club in my village: VOAB. I started in the mini-puppies with many friends and we moved from team to team. We won many prizes and have experienced a lot of beautiful moments.

When I was about 8 years old I received a letter from Willem II / RKC. A youth academy where I was allowed to do an internship. My luck could not be better and I was hired after 3 training sessions. For my parents it was a big task to get me to Waalwijk 4 times a week, but my parents did everything they could to make me live my dream.

After playing for 2 years in the youth academy of Willem II / RKC, these 2 clubs broke up and I started playing football at Willem II. This was a lot closer and it all became a little easier. I went to school in Tilburg by bike and from there by bike to the training. I did this for about 8 years. During this time there have been many ups and downs, for me the most important thing was to become a professional footballer and therefore to continue. I have had a lot of support from my parents and my friends who support me at every stage to become a better football player.

Future plans

At the moment I play in Willem II’s 021 and I get my chances in Willem II’s first team. My dream is starting to become reality, but for me the most important thing was to become a professional footballer and therefore to continue. I have had tremendous support from my parents and my friends who support me at every stage to become a better football player. My dream is starting to become reality, but I am far from it. My parents and friends are very proud and continue to support me to get further and further and to continue to develop myself. I want to thank my parents and friends for all the support and care and I am very happy with where I am now.
